The Kite Runner gave a very interesting historical perspective on the constant unrest in Afghanistan, and the oppression of the people there. The story was incredibly gripping, and I felt very invested in the characters, like Amir, who faces the political turmoil, destruction of families and friendships, and cultural differences in Afghanistan and the US, as both a child and an adult. The Kite Runner was very well-written, and gave an accurate account of the situation in the Middle East, as well as a child's outlook on war and instability.
